Zeolites - can they cure cancer?
Cancer, heart disease and many other serious health conditions have plagued the world, particularly in recent years, possibly as a result of the increase in the number of chemicals and other potentially harmful substances that have infiltrated our food supplies and our environment and as such have become a normal part of modern day life. Naturally, anything that could possibly help to combat the negative effects of these toxins and benefit health in general is going to attract a lot of interest, for example, the current wave of interest in Zeolites.
Many claims have been made about liquid Zeolites and how they can benefit our health. Whether or not Zeolites are good for cancer or even beneficial for our health in general is a controversial issue. Some people claim Zeolites can potentially cure cancer and at the other end of the scale we have those that say Zeolites do nothing at all. However, given the speculation surrounding the dramatic effect that Zeolites might have on our health, people are naturally going to want to know more, particularly when many conventional medicine and treatments carry so many negative side effects that in some cases can be worse than the condition they are designed to treat.
Although the medical profession is focussed on finding out both the cause and the cure of the so called 20th century diseases, unfortunately, this isn’t as simple a process as it might sound. Most diseases tend to be triggered by a combination of factors making identification of single cause all but impossible, and any potential treatment for any condition whatsoever has to undergo rigorous testing before it can be endorsed by the medical profession and introduced to the general public, which of course can take years. Consequently, many people on hearing about a particular cure or remedy are forced into conducting their own research and trying out other unconventional methods and medications in an attempt to heal themselves. Understandably, this can be a cause of concern for health professionals.
It would also be fair to say that at least some of those who are dismissing the claims about Zeolites are in fact involved in the supply of other medications that would be in competition with them and therefore they have a vested interested in promoting their own products rather than any that are produced from Zeolites. The absolute scientific truth as to how beneficial Zeolites are for our health is still out there, but nevertheless, Zeolites have been classed as GRAS by the FDA which means that they are generally considered safe to use. Before discussing what it is that is believed to be so special about Zeolites we should look at what Zeolites actually are.
What are Zeolites?
Zeolites are solid crystalline structures consisting of many cavities and tunnels. They are extremely porous and are often referred to as molecular sieves because of their ability to separate molecules according to their shape and size. The word Zeolite literally means stone that boils after Swedish scientist Axel Cronstedt found that when natural minerals were heated up and the water started to evaporate the stones began jumping around as if they were boiling.
Natural Zeolites were formed millions of years ago from volcanic rock and ash interacting with the earth. There are many different types of Zeolites, many of which are synthetic, but almost 50 naturally occurring Zeolites have been identified so far.
Zeolites are already widely used for a variety of purposes across the world. For example, they help to purify water supplies. They are used in the petrochemical industry and in processes requiring the separation and removal of solvents and gases. They are used in agriculture, the construction industry and in farming. They are found in detergents, in filtration systems and even in pet litter.
How do Zeolites benefit health?
Zeolites are believed to draw and capture in their cage like structure heavy metals such as lead and mercury as well as many other toxins and potentially harmful substances that may be circulating or stored in the body and safely remove them via the body’s natural elimination system. What this could mean for our health is quite mind blowing. We all know that an overload of toxins can predispose us towards cancer and many other health problems so it stands to reason that eliminating these toxins is desirable if not essential if we want to maintain good health.
There are reputed to be many beneficial effects from taking Zeolites and the following list represents just a few:

What causes cancer?
Cancer begins when one cell becomes abnormal and starts to multiply and grow out of control affecting other cells in the process. Why it develops in one person and not in another is probably a result of a combination of different factors such as exposure to toxins, lifestyle, diet, genetics, age and health in general. For example, the more you are exposed to toxins, say in an industrial environment or if you smoke and/or drink a lot of alcohol, the more you are at risk. Similarly, the older you are the more likely it is that you could have accumulated toxins in the body over a longer period of time.
Studies tell us that people who eat more fruits and vegetables have a reduced risk of developing certain types of cancers which highlights the role that antioxidants have to play in helping to prevent cancer as fruits and vegetables contain powerful antioxidants that help to remove free radicals from the body.
Although the body can cope with a certain amount of toxins and can repair some damage done to the cells, it cannot cope with an overload or if the body is not in good shape generally. Consequently, the best thing we can do to help prevent cancer, slow its growth or possibly cure it altogether is to eliminate toxins from the body, to eat well, exercise well and avoid further exposure to toxins.
Conclusion
As there are no documented scientific trials that have been conducted on humans to back up some of the claims regarding Zeolites, there is bound to be a certain amount of scepticism surrounding whether or not Zeolites are helpful for serious conditions such as cancer. Even if there were data available there would be no guarantee that Zeolites would bring about a cure or even if they would be suitable for all types of cancer, furthermore, conducting the studies to establish this kind of information is likely to take decades to complete if ever.
As with any type of medication, supplement, herbal remedy or natural product it is important to speak to your doctor before you start taking it as there could be very specific reasons as to why a particular medication may not be suitable for you, Zeolites are no different. | | |
